Win-Win Negotiations Training
As most business people will tell you, one of the most important
skills a person can develop is the ability to negotiate effectively.
Regardless of industry or position, nearly everyone must deal with
negotiations on a regular basis. In fact, negotiations aren’t limited to
the business world. Those of us who have had to bargain for favorable
contract terms, convince children to do their chores, a car dealership
to lower the cost of an automobile or a loved one to understand a point
of view have been involved in negotiations. When you think about, it is
reasonable to say that just about every adult is involved in
negotiations on a daily basis. Unfortunately, a great majority of us
have not taken the proper training that allows one to become a skilled
negotiator. It is through training and intelligent skills based
instruction that negotiations skills can be learned and put to use
effectively in any situation. Our proven Win-Win Negotiations workshop
is a comprehensive training workshop designed to increase the
negotiations skills of new and experienced negotiators.
For nearly twenty-five years, tens of thousands of individuals in all
walks of life have benefited from this highly interactive, two-day
negotiations training session. Win-Win Negotiations training focuses on
the need to develop and strengthen the negotiations skills of
participants via practice and effective training concepts. Centered on
the concept of principled negotiations that seek to build a “win-win”
for both parties, our training workshop teaches participants how to
focus on common interests while strengthening relationships and working
to build a mutually beneficial outcome. This hands-on negotiations
training seminar utilizes simulation sessions, individual assessments
and activities, group discussions and lectures to reinforce the
negotiations learning process. Time is spent working on every facet of
negotiations – from the planning stages to the completion of a
negotiation. Our negotiations training program teaches participants to
be prepared to handle nearly any negotiations situation they may
encounter. All training activities are designed to increase skills
transfer of those who must negotiate regularly or only intermittently.
With these skills in hand, participants will be able to handle any
face-to-face or telephone negotiations with greater effectiveness and a
more positive effect on personal relationships.
Win-Win Negotiations training participants will learn to:
- Plan for negotiations that take place both inside and outside
the workplace
- Become more effective when handling negotiations in person or on
the telephone
- Minimize conflict and roadblocks by utilizing principled
negotiation strategies
- Build internal unity by working within an organization during
negotiations
- Understand the needs of different negotiating types
- Establish rapport and build chemistry
- Place greater emphasis on planning and strategy
- Focus on interests and issues that lead to common agreement
- Work with a common negotiation language to increase personal
effectiveness
- Apply questioning skills to determine attitudes, situations and
priorities
Adjust their negotiations approach based on verbal cues and behavior
- Identify areas of concern and recommend appropriate solutions
- Recognize and disarm dishonest negotiations tactics
- Handle negotiations in an ethical manner that strengthens
relationships
Build better deals to increase satisfaction and stronger outcomes
“Actually my favorite part of the (Win-Win
Negotiations) program was the role playing sessions, which
surprised me because that is usually my least favorite part, but our
instructor was so wonderful that I could not help but enjoy it. Your
company fully exceeded my expectations all around. In addition, our
instructor was so wonderful, she was the perfect person to teach a
class.”

I believe the training received was totally on-target, helping us to
understand our personal negotiating styles and identify the styles of
our business associates. We also received a better understanding of
the planning needed to prepare for negotiations and the phases of the
process. The instructor, Ms. Shelby Bybee, was well-versed in the
subject, able to share personal experiences in negotiation, and
conducted excellent hands-on training exercises.
In summary, I felt these were two days well-spent, and that our
performance will be substantially improved by the training received.
Sincerely yours,
