While corporations and international conglomerates receive the
lions-share of coverage and attention in today’s frantic business world,
small business are the lifeblood of our economy and are often on the
leading edge of our country’s technological and scientific innovations.
Within the past twenty years, some of the largest and most powerful
technology businesses were once operating on shoestring budgets to roll
out new products and services. Today, small businesses drive a large
portion of our country’s economy. Small businesses act as a firm anchor
in our economy and are often the starting point for many of our
country’s business leaders. Yet, small businesses have different needs
and face circumstances not found in larger, more expansive companies. In
some cases, small businesses are at a disadvantage when larger, more
powerful suppliers and customers try to use their size to exert
influence during negotiations. Our two-day workshop, Small Business
Negotiation Skills, takes into account the unique needs of small
businesses and applies them to our time-tested negotiation concepts to

legal staff and other professionals involved in the negotiations and the
day-to-day affairs of a small business will benefit from this highly
interactive, two-day negotiations training course. The Small Business
Negotiation Skills class focuses on the need to develop and strengthen
the negotiations skills of participants via practice and effective
course concepts. Built on the concept of principled negotiations that
seek to protect interests while working to build a “win-win” for both
parties, our training course teaches small businesses how to focus on
common interests while strengthening relationships. The end result is an
outcome that benefits all parties involved. This motivational and highly
participatory skills-based negotiations course utilizes simulation
sessions, self-assessments, exercises, group discussions and lectures to
reinforce the learning process. All course activities are designed to
increase skills transfer of those who must negotiate during the course
of running a small business. With these valuable skills in hand, small
business professionals will be able to handle vendor negotiations,
contracts, funding and venture capital meetings, supplier arrangements
and other negotiations with greater effectiveness and a positive effect
on long-term relationships.
