Key Negotiation Skills Training
It is not uncommon for those of us in the business world to find
ourselves having to deal with negotiations in the workplace. Business
development negotiations often center around sales contracts and
proposals. Marketing negotiations revolve around budgets, advertising
campaigns, internal commitments and vendor relationships. Information
systems negotiations focus on technology budgets, resources and project
details and deadlines. Nearly every person in an organization chart will
eventually have to deal with negotiations in one form or another.
Without the appropriate skills training, far too many professionals end
up being raked across the coals during a negotiation and simply give up
too much to the other party. With a greater understanding of essential
negotiation skills, one can increase personal and professional
effectiveness at the proverbial negotiations table. Our Key Negotiation
Skills Training workshop is a half-day interactive training sessions
focused on teaching key negotiations concepts that can be applied in
nearly any situation.

skills training programs. Our Key Negotiation Skills training class
provides participants with immediate exposure to time-tested principles
and proven methodologies that lead to greater success in the business
world. We teach the essential concept of principled negotiations one
that seeks to build a mutually beneficial outcome for all parties
involved. Our skills-based negotiations training workshop teaches
participants how to focus on common interests while building
relationships. The training class teaches participants how to structure
deals that lead to a win-win while avoiding shady tricks and
negotiation tactics. Structured as a participatory negotiations skills
training, the seminar utilizes role playing, personal assessments, group
exercises, discussions and training modules to reinforce the learning
process. Via the Key Negotiation Skills training program, participants
will be prepared to handle nearly any negotiation situation and will
understand how to utilize newly learned skills that lead to success.
Key Negotiation Skills Training participants will learn to:
- Plan effectively for ad-hoc or scheduled negotiation meetings
- Handle face-to-face or telephone negotiations more effectively
- Minimize conflict and obstacles by utilizing principled
negotiation strategies
- Build internal cooperation by working as a team during
negotiations
- Understand the needs of different negotiating types
- Establish rapport and build chemistry
- Place greater emphasis on planning and strategy
- Focus on interests and issues that lead to common agreement
- Work with a common negotiation language to increase negotiation
effectiveness
- Apply questioning skills to determine attitudes, situations and
priorities
- Adjust their negotiations approach based on verbal cues and
behavior
- Identify areas of concern and recommend appropriate solutions
- Utilize new skills to recognize and disarm dishonest
negotiations tactics
- Handle negotiations in an manner that strengthens relationships
- Seek better outcomes that increase satisfaction for all parties
