“My favorite part of the program was the flexibility in the
instructor to meet my needs in what I was hoping to learn. I
learned new ways to negotiate and about myself. I felt your
staff was very personable, knowledgeable, and pleasant.”

“I enjoyed the openness to discuss a wide variety of topics.
I was able to open up my way of thinking and look outside the
box. The awareness of how I presented myself previously has now
made me realize that I need to be more creative, open and aware.
I was pleasantly surprised, the knowledge was just endless.”

“The class exceeded my expectations! What I liked the most
was the interaction with the group and learning the different
negotiation techniques. The instructor was an excellent
communicator and fun to be around.”

Negotiation Style Self-Assessment (Two Hour)
The first step towards becoming an effective negotiator is to
understand one’s own negotiation style. Each and every one of us
negotiates in a slightly different manner yet almost all of us fall into
distinct negotiation style categories. Every one of these categories has
particular characteristics that make them distinct from other
categories. These characteristics have their own sets of strengths and
weaknesses. None of them are necessarily “good” or “bad”, they are
simply different. It is therefore crucial for us to get a grasp on our
personal style if we are to understand how to “connect” with other
negotiating styles during the course of simple or complex negotiations.
Our two-hour Negotiation Style Self-Assessment is designed to provide
self-awareness to participants and to lead into a discussion on how
flexing one’s negotiation style can lead to stronger relationships and
more effective negotiations.
We’ve all found ourselves in the uncomfortable situation of a
negotiation where nothing seems to be going right. Regardless of what we
say, the other party simply can’t seem to move towards a productive
discussion or a negotiated agreement. The Negotiation Style
Self-Assessment is the first step one can take towards understanding how
effective communications can wash away these tense situations and lead
to open and productive negotiation sessions. Our training workshop
teaches time-tested negotiation concepts and utilizes interactive
discussions to reinforce skill and knowledge transfer. This
participatory and information-packed negotiation course utilizes
individual self-assessments, group exercises, activities, roundtable
discussions and lectures to reinforce the learning process. Training
modules are designed to increase personal effectiveness and
communication knowledge transfer for those who must negotiate with
customers, vendors, partners and suppliers.
Negotiation Style Self-Assessment (Two Hour) participants will
utilize skills to:
- Learn their particular negotiation style
- Understand the unique communication challenges faced during
negotiations
- Learn how miscommunication can derail discussions
- Become more effective when handling negotiations in person or on
the telephone
- Minimize conflict and roadblocks by utilizing principled
negotiation strategies
- Understand the needs of different negotiating styles
- Establish rapport and build chemistry
- Apply questioning skills to determine attitudes, situations and
priorities
- Adjust their negotiations style based on verbal cues and
behavior
- Recognize and disarm dishonest negotiations tactics
- Handle negotiations in an ethical manner that strengthens
relationships
